Hi! Welcome back to my blog! As you know, I have written about the importance of family and friends. However, I have not written about the importance of community, which plays a huge role in my life.
I live in a condo, which celebrates a ton of festivals and holidays. Everyone has their own individual traditions but sometimes there are some community traditions. Recently, we had a few community celebrations within our condo, and I’m going to explain them.
Firstly, we had Halloween. As you know, Halloween is a time when we dress up in scary costumes, tell scary stories and go trick-or-treating! On Halloween, all the kids go trick-or-treating, and everyone gets a lot of candy from the people who hand it out. It’s not only a tradition, but also fun! It’s also a time to hang out with your friends and share the joy. You create unforgettable experiences.
The other community event we had recently was the condo Diwali party. My friends and I participated in a Diwali dance, and we had a great time! We had been practising for a long time, and we finally got to perform it in front of everyone who attended the party. We also got to eat dinner together and play games as well. The amazing part of the party was the whole community coming together, and having tons of fun. That was my favorite part of it.
I think that the most important part of a community is the fact that everyone relies on each other. Regardless of whether communities are big or small, community is a great support system. When you need help, someone will always be there. Community is also a place to cherish and create new memories that will be unforgettable for the rest of your life. After all, Helen Keller once said “ Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much”. I love that quote, because I think it really helps show how important community is, and how it helps us. I personally think that community is an extremely important support system and creator of memories, and I hope all of you are grateful for your own communities.
