Exploring the Power of Community in Frozen Jr: Finding Family, Shared Dreams, and Unforgettable Bonds

There are so many different ways to find comfort in a community. That includes things that you participate in with people, who end up becoming your family at the end of it. For the past 3 months, I’ve been part of the musical Frozen JR, and it’s been one of the most amazing experiences in my life. Today, I’m going to dive deeper into that, and explain exactly what happened and how that has affected me now.

For around 7 hours a week for the first two months, we had normal rehearsals, learning dances and music, and understanding how our characters were meant to be acted out in a way that portrayed the mood of the performance. For two months, we laid all of the foundations of the musical, and it was already great. However, we spent the last month, the entire month, practically 11 hours a week, perfecting as much as we could, trying our hardest to make the show the most incredible it could be.

I made new friends during the process, and that was one of the most rewarding things. When the time for the show finally came, it was incredible! All of us had such a fun time performing on stage, and it was such an amazing feeling of accomplishment. After the show, I think all of us had bittersweet emotions. Everyone was happy and proud of the work that was achieved, but it was also sad to think that it was the last time we were all going to see each other together. During the time of rehearsals, we all became one big Frozen family, and it was a really sad moment to have to acknowledge the fact that everyone together as a group will probably not happen ever again.

However, being in the musical reminded me of the importance of community. One of the main reasons was how everyone relies on each other. People can support each other, and lean on one another for support when needed. Having a community like that is incredible, because the amount of people who are there to support you is fantastic. Another main reason is the experience. In this community, you make so many incredible memories that you will cherish for life. There are so many funny moments that you will look back on years later and laugh about. That’s the reason the community is special. Having that safety barrier and having those people you can laugh with about all of the funny things that happened so long ago. It makes you feel like you belong, like you are a part of this family. I found a beautiful quote that says “A true community is where strangers become family, bound by shared dreams, laughter, and the unspoken promise to lift each other up. It’s where you find pieces of yourself in others, and together, create something unforgettable.” I really love this quote, because I think it’s so relevant and emphasises the importance of having a community. Frozen Jr has opened my eyes to what a caring community can be, and I hope all of you also get to experience that as well.
