Hi! Welcome back to my blog! This week, I am going to be talking about playing the guitar. As you know, one of my biggest passions is music. I sing, play the piano and play the guitar. I take piano and singing very seriously, and actually do Trinity exams for them. However, I don’t do that for guitar.
In fact, I only picked up guitar recently, and it’s so much fun! When there’s no pressure of exams, it’s a lot more fun, because I can practically learn whatever I want! However, guitar isn’t easy. For me, it was really confusing at first, especially because the only instrument I was comfortable playing was the piano, and the guitar and piano are really different from each other. There were also a lot of different techniques that I had to learn which were really hard for me! Some of them included adjusting my left hand to not mute the sound, how to not let the pick make a scraping noise and way more.
I also got to learn a lot of strumming patterns, which turned out to be super fun! I think that the best part of learning guitar for me in the first place was having the freedom to learn what I want. It was a new experience for me, and allowed me to have a lot of fun. In fact, today, I have recorded my first song that I have learned on the guitar, which I felt incredibly proud of. I learned You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift, and it allowed me to learn so many new chords and strumming patterns. I found it to be a very enjoyable experience. As you know, my favorite artist is Taylor Swift. In fact, she once said “I have to practice to be good at guitar. I have to write 100 songs before you write the first good one.” I completely agree with that, because when learning an instrument, it’s really important to practice it a lot so that you get better at it. Playing the guitar brings me a lot of joy and happiness, and it will continue to be a fun hobby of mine for life.
