Harriet Tubman: A Life Filled With Sacrifice

Hi! Welcome back to my blog! As you know, last week, I wrote a blog post about Susan B. Anthony, and I am going to continue writing about inspirational people. Today, I will be talking about Harriet Tubman. She was born in March 1822, and had a very tough life. In her childhood, she was a slave. Back then, slavery was very common and highly regulated. Slaves were mistreated, and were cruelly punished constantly. It was a very difficult life.

However, Harriet ended up escaping being a slave. What I truly admire about her is her courage. Let me explain. Even after she escaped slavery and left behind her traumatic childhood, she still went back. To help other people. Harriet essentially went back to Maryland, and helped other slaves escape slavery. She was not benefitting at all from what she did, but she did it for the sake of others.

In my opinion, her courage and compassion were magnificent. Personally, I find Harriet Tubman one of the most inspiring people in history, because she did so much for others, willing to sacrifice her comforts and happiness in the process.

That’s the last thing I wanted to talk about. As I said in my last blog post, sacrifice is sometimes essential. For example, Susan B. Anthony knew that in order to achieve her goal, there would be some sacrifices. It is exactly the same thing with Harriet Tubman. What I really find amazing is how all these inspirational people sacrifice so much, and do it for the sake of others. I personally find Harriet Tubman’s story really inspiring, and I hope all of you also acknowledge the extraordinary impact she had on the world.
