Hi! Welcome back to my blog! This week, I am in Iceland with my sister, mom, cousins, aunt and uncle. I personally find it to be an absolutely beautiful country. Let me tell you about some of the places we saw! We have all been seeing a lot of waterfalls, and two of my favourites are Dettifoss and Godafoss. In case you don’t know, both of these waterfalls are referred to as the Beauty and the Beast. Dettifoss is the Beast, while Godafoss is the
Beauty.
If you can’t tell, this Dettifoss. This is the Beast waterfall, and it’s pretty clear why it’s called the Beast. The power of the waterfall is crazy, and it’s made by nature. That’s why it’s so impressive.
Here, you can see Godafoss, the Beauty. Similarly, you can understand why it’s called the Beauty, since it is absolutely gorgeous! Another thing we did was horse riding! It was honestly a really fun experience, especially since this was my first time riding on a horse. However, my most favourite activities were hiking the glacier and going on a boat in the glacier lagoon. We hiked the Sólheimajökull glacier, which was magnificent!
As you can see, this is the Sólheimajökull glacier we hiked. We also rode a boat and got to see the glacier lagoon, which had icebergs on the lagoon, as you can see below. It was gorgeous!
However, I noticed a sign that made me realise something.
As you can see, glaciers in Iceland are melting significantly, and it’s not just in Iceland. Global warming is affecting the climate, and it’s destroying several things. It’s also continuing to cause destruction all around the world. Barack Obama once said “ We are the first generation to feel the impact of climate change and the last generation that can do something about it ” . I completely agree with that quote, and I think that quote also helps us realise that we can do something about global warming. It can even be the smallest thing, like saving energy at home, eating more vegetables instead of meat etc but all of us should play our part to try and help the earth. I suggest all of you also try to help as much as you can.
The blog is great and also carries the msg of saving the planet
