Holidays with family are always the most special. Getting to go to different places, trying new food, and experiencing unique things are just a few of the many things that make them incredible.
Just a few days ago, my mom, sister and I flew out all the way to Atlanta to visit my cousins, aunt and uncle. It’s been amazing getting to do so many fun things with them. Today, I’m going to specifically talk about one of the places we visited, Stone Mountain.
Stone Mountain is a single granite stone as large as a mountain. It’s incredible! We drove about an hour to get there, and it was amazing. Everything was Christmas themed and fantastic. We started by going on a train around it, where we could look at the beautiful views while singing along to classic Christmas carols.
Afterwards, we went to a 4D experience that was created using a movie on Rudolph. It was such a cool experience, as it included various effects. For dinner, we set up picnic mats and blankets in the memorial lawn and ate our food in the cold. We were all absolutely freezing, rushing to finish the food and get back to the car. Around an hour later, we went back and watched the drone and firework show, which was great. The drones created amazing visuals, and the fireworks at the end were spectacular.
However, the highlight for me were the lights. Every tree, every corner was covered in fairy lights around the entire park. It was incredible to walk around and look in awe at the beauty. I was taking pictures the entire time, trying to capture the incredible moments and places we saw. However, despite trying to capture the stunning lights, the photo never turned out as nice at it looked in real life.
Understanding that made me realize that sometimes, you can’t always capture the most beautiful of moments on camera. Instead, you have to live in the moment. I found this amazing quote that says "Some of life’s most breathtaking moments can’t be confined to a lens—no photo can truly hold their light. Beauty like that is meant to be felt, not framed; sometimes, you have to let go of the capture and simply live in the glow." I love this quote, because it expresses the magic of living in the moment and the true fact that not everything can be captured with a click. I hope that you choose to live in the moment, soaking in all the beauty of the world, understanding that not every experience can be captured by the lens of a camera.
