Hi! Welcome back to my blog! As you know, one of my favorite things to do is to read. So, I will be talking about reading today!
Firstly, let me explain why reading is a great hobby. Dr Seuss once said “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go”. I completely agree with that quote, since you can learn so many new things in books! For example, you can learn a lot from non fiction books. Certain types of non-fiction books trigger inspiration. For example, the Who Was series inspired me, particularly when I read the book about Susan B. Anthony, I was inspired by how she stood up for women’s rights.
However, if you don’t like non fiction books, you can read other genres too. You can read historical fiction as that could help you learn about history and perspectives from a long time ago. An example of a book that fits that description is The Unexpected Life Of Oliver Cromwell Pitts. Another option is realistic fiction as that could help you learn about the perspectives of different people in situations. An example of a book that fits that description is Front Desk.
Another genre I love is fantasy. An example of a fantasy book that helps you learn things is Percy Jackson And The Olympians. When I started reading it, I had absolutely no knowledge about Greek mythology. After I finished reading the series, I was not only comfortable listing Greek gods, but also their Roman form.
Also, when you read, you immerse yourself in a completely different world. I like to call that the Literature World, because it’s a world where you can envision things in your own way, soaking up every detail. If you have ever read a good book, I’m sure that you have experienced that feeling too. I personally think that it is very important to read, and I think it is also a very enjoyable activity. I hope that everyone continues to read different books and immerse themselves in the literature world.
