Sharing & Communication: A Valuable Tool

Hi! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m going to be talking about communication. I recently was talking to my sister about communication, and the topic of sharing. This really got me thinking, “What are the benefits of sharing and communication? What impact do they have on our lives?” That encouraged me to do a four day workshop on sharing for my sister. While she learnt a lot, I felt that it was also really beneficial to me. I learnt a lot of new things, which I am going to share with you.

Firstly, trust. As you share more with people, you build trust, and you have trusting relationships with others. Not only that, but you can strengthen your communication skills through trust. Trust encourages open and honest communication, and can help understand other perspectives and create outcomes that work for everyone, and will also help with conflict resolution. I think that one of the most important impacts of trust is strong family bonds. In families where individuals trust each other, it is more likely that each person will feel secure, respected and supported. This is also likely to lead to a supportive and nurturing environment, and will be a source of happiness and joy. There are truly so many benefits of trust.

Next is communication. There is so much impact that communication has on our lives, starting with enhanced problem solving. When you communicate your feelings, you are expressing your thoughts, feelings, opinions, perspectives, concerns, preferences and more. These are all important. When you are in a conflict, the best thing to do is to communicate to find a solution. As a result, everyone’s needs, wants, preferences and concerns are taken into account, and there can be an outcome which suits everyone.

Another effect that communication has on our lives is self-growth. When you communicate, you get to understand different people’s perspectives, and can also gain feedback. This can lead to you becoming a better person and truly developing a deeper and more complex understanding of the world around them.

Virginia Woolf once said “Communication is health; communication is truth; communication is happiness. To share is our duty; to go down boldly and bring to light those hidden thoughts which are the most diseased; to conceal nothing; to pretend nothing; if we are ignorant to say so; if we love our friends to let them know it” I really love this quote, because I think it is extremely beautiful. It is so powerful, and emphasises the importance and significance of communication while almost sensing an urge to communicate for the better. Communication and sharing are a huge aspect of our lives. They play such an important role in our lives, and in society as a whole. I hope that one day all of us can share and communicate for the benefit of us, and the people around us too.
