Susan Gale once said “Mothers are like glue. Even when you can't see them, they're still holding the family together” That’s something that has stuck with me for a long time, and has proven to be a really important aspect of my life. Since today is Mother’s Day, I thought I would express my thoughts and feelings about mothers and how my own mother has affected my life. I absolutely love Mother’s Day, because I believe that it is truly special to acknowledge and be a part of a day that celebrates mothers.
I cannot use enough words to describe how grateful I am for my own mother, and it will never be enough. She wakes up every day at 5am, to respond to work emails, do an entire workout routine and get my sister and I ready for school. I end the day in bed, snuggled in her lap, as she helps me fall asleep before she continues to hop on calls with clients in Europe and the Americas.
I am so happy and proud of the person I am starting to become thanks to her. Thanks to her, I’ve learned such important values like perseverance, empathy, worth ethic, and practising gratitude. These are all lessons that I will always carry with me in my life.
No matter what, no matter where, she’s always there. She’s there to catch us when we fall, and to bring us back up. Whether she's next to me or 9,562 miles away, she still somehow makes my day. She’s truly amazing, and I am and will be forever grateful for all the memories we have created together. Going to the Eras Tour, travelling around the world, going on our traditional Friday evening walks. All these experiences mean a lot to me, and it’s also these things that make this mother-daughter bond even more special. These are all things that I will never forget, and will always be a part of me and my relationship with my mother.
All mothers are truly unique and loving in their own way, and I admire them for it. I admire the courage and the determination every mother needs to care and love for their children. I see mothers as a bundle of unlimited joy and happiness that I hope everyone will always be able to have. Mothers are truly the centre of this world, and I could not be more grateful for them. Happy Mother’s Day.
